In this 80-minute video, James Morganelli, author of “BOJUTSU: Concepts, Techniques, and Forms” and its follow up, “BOJUTSU: Hiden,” teaches a "crash course" in bojutsu, the art of the fighting staff, or more commonly known as the “bo.” In this video, James introduces a number of concepts and techniques including: Proper stance and Kamae, basic movement and positioning, the Sanshin No Kata pattern for seamless motion, the Sayu Sabaki pattern for balance and leverage changes, the nine basic strikes, proper grip changing and hand patterns, the Bo Furigata pattern for rotating the bo, fighting patterns from the Kukishin school, proper partner training using the Uke/Tori method, fighting concepts, such as deception, and even a little lesson in Protector Ethics.
